Freyja is a Bengal cat with a brass bell on her collar. She wanders the
Underground on her own, doing cat things in each room.
Behaviour
She has agendas of her own — napping, roaming, *play-sprints*, or taking
a polite interest in people — not a fresh coin-flip every minute. Bengal
energy: curious, athletic, fond of gaps, high places, and secret routes,
shorter naps, and more night-time zoom. Treats and pets sometimes trigger
a zoom instead of cuddles; after a lap she may burn off energy in a
play-sprint. She is somewhat *nocturnal*: more loaf by day, more active
in the evening and night. If you walk in on a nap she may only crack an
eye, briefly lean, or relocate the loaf; she never wakes mean. Petting a
napping Freyja is soft — she may recircle and sleep on, or sometimes
decide you are worth a stretch.
She may greet you when you enter or when she drifts in while you are
already there. Sometimes she shadows a player for a while, then loses
interest and goes back to cat business. After a lap or a follow she often
cools off before bothering the same humans again.
sit near her, pet freyja, or give treat freyja can pull her into
a stretch of attention (if she is not already cooling off). Treats:help treats.
In the *Cat's Cradle, the cat sitter sometimes plays with a *toy
fishing pole* (feather wand) for Freyja, or a laser pointer* that
either or both cats can chase. Local only — no facility-wide spam —
and it burns zoomie energy so they loaf more afterward. A tired cat may
ignore the laser (or the pole) and stay a mountain.
If she is far from every online player for a long stretch, she has been
known to turn up beside someone quite suddenly — rarely, not constantly.
She is banned from the *entry pod, the Command Center*, and the
*Library Forbidden Section*. Everywhere else is fair game.
Petting
pet freyja (or pet if she is the only pettable NPC present) —
she has her own reactions, cooldowns included.
The Cat's Cradle
North of main engineering (shared with Thor). In the Cradle she may hop
into a player's lap and refuse to let them move until she jumps off
(usually not long). She only claims one lap at a time — and will not
stack on Thor if he already turned someone into a pillow. After any cat
leaves your lap (or you push Thor off), both cats leave you alone for a
couple of minutes. The cat sitter will mock you — and often talk to
Freyja as well.
Room flavour
Each area has its own cat behaviour — bar, garden, lab, library,
engineering, den, kitchen, storage, and cellar all feel different.
She drifts toward rooms where people are gathered.
Watching her move
When Freyja follows someone, other players in the same room may see her
come and go with that player. She is a visible part of the living world,
not a private companion.
