The Underground is a social MUD — a text world for chatting, light
roleplay, and wandering a living complex beneath the surface.
Materialize in the entry pod, step into the Great Hall, and explore the
bar and kitchen wing, conservatory garden and biology lab, library,
main engineering, the Cat's Cradle, and the Custodian's rounds. Staff
NPCs keep the place busy; Freyja, a Bengal cat, and Thor, her large
orange friend, treat the Underground as their territory.
Playing
Web client
Click Enter the Underground on the homepage, log in or register, pick
a character, and type commands in the input line. The web client works
in any modern browser — no extra software required.
Telnet
Connect with any MUD client to the host and port shown on the homepage.
Create an account at the login prompt, then create a character.
House rules
English is the lingua franca. Don't be a dick. Avoid politics, religion,
and spicy controversy. Beyond that, pretty much everything goes.
