How to talk and interact with other players.
Room speech
Prefix your line with ' to speak aloud in the current room —
e.g. 'Nice weather down here. Everyone present hears you.
Use say <message> if you prefer the explicit form.
Actions and poses
emote <action> or :action — describe what your character does.;action also works. Example: :orders a drink. becomes
You order a drink.
pose <text> — set a line shown when others look at you, such as
leaning against the counter, watching the room.
Private messages
whisper <player> = <message> — speak quietly to someone nearby.
Only they (and perhaps very close listeners) will see it.
Channels
Public channels let you reach players beyond your current room.channel lists what you can join. Once subscribed, use the channel
command (e.g. pub <message>) to broadcast.
Etiquette
The Underground is a social space. Read the room, match the tone, and
remember the house rules (help The Underground).
